It's economically competitiveIt's economically competitive. Oil, coal, and natural gas have long been thought of as cheap energy sources. yet, for the past few decades, the markets for these conventional types of energy have become increasingly volatile, and the supply has become more uncertain. Wind is unlimited, and, thanks to new technologies in capturing its energy, has become increasingly more cost-effective. A study by Shell Renewable in April, 2004 shows that as long as wind turbines are large enough and situated in suitable locations, the electricity they produce is competitive with non-renewable sources. |
